My name is Shradha Thapa, the founder and designer of Vian. Vian in Sanskrit means 'full of life,' and I believe each of our products is at once a piece of art and an expression of living fully in health and heart. Live well, live Vian!  

 

The company was founded in 2020 with a dream of blending traditional Himalayan designs with a contemporary touch. Born and raised in Nepal, I have been based in California for the past twenty years, and my passion has been to make a difference to the women of Nepal. Today, I am excited to work towards making my dream a reality.

 

Vian believes in celebrating and showcasing women's and local artists' creativity. Most of our products are 80 percent hand-made with ethically sourced, sustainable, and natural materials. Our popular hand-made toys and soft-as-a-cloud three-layered 100 percent cotton Muslin swaddles and blankets for babies and kids are all made with love and care.

 

We design our collections in California, and make our products in Nepal working with woman organizations, fair trade groups, and individual artisans who are able to work from their homes, allowing them time to look after their children and manage their homes. Vian also collaborates with local businesses to create supportive ecosystems of empowered women entrepreneurs and local artists.
